Hayato Ginjo vs HYDE The Clown Empty
PostSubject: Hayato Ginjo vs HYDE The Clown   Hayato Ginjo vs HYDE The Clown I_icon_minitimeTue Nov 12, 2024 3:11 am

The dragon descended upon the barren land below it and breathed fire onto the world, and the man who withstood the flames called himself the first "Emperor". That's how the old story went, at least, but I'm not here to re-hash old stories, I'm here to write a brand new one.

Strong Style, King's Road, those were admirable ring styles that represented the old ways of Japanese wrestling. Their shortcomings? They were weak, and they were manipulatable. Before we knew it, Japanese wrestling became as popular in the West as American wrestling, and then before we knew it, American wrestling had invaded Japan. We already know how that story goes - we lost a lot, but I am here to take it all back.

So let's talk about the new story that I wish to write with my brush, and the ink I use shall be the blood of those who fall before me.

Allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Ginjo Hayato, and I hail from Asakusa, Japan. I've been wrestling for three years, and I am very proud of this sport, I am very proud of where I come from, and I am very proud of my people. My identity is my pride, and my pride is my strength. I wish that all the wrestlers in my homeland could feel the same way but the reality is that some of them are simply too weak. They were the ones who couldn't hold their heads high as the dojos they trained out lost their funding as American companies destroyed the economy of Japanese wrestling. They were the ones not good enough to compete amongst the foreign invaders and had to give up on their dream of wrestling, many of them having to go work odd jobs just to make ends meet. They are the ones who have passed on their lamentations, their regrets, and their anger, their thirst for vengeance, the result of their passions being extinguished, their dreams being crushed, and now, I am here to restore it.

Yes, I serve a new cause in Japanese wrestling called "The Restoration". I will not bore you with the finer details, but just know that I am here to take back everything that you all have taken from us. I am here to take back our money, our dignity, I am here to crush dreams and leave little room for the young American boys who dream of growing up to become a professional wrestler to achieve those dreams. Each and every casualty that the fetishized foreign invasion of Japanese wrestling shall be tallied and the resulting restitution will be made whole, and I am here to ensure that.

It is not a new road. Few have walked that path before but ultimately they have failed. Unlike Arata Asakura, I don't think senseless violence is the answer. Unlike Bad Boy Know, I don't think racism and xenophobia to our country is the answer. The Restoration seeks to re-establish the pride and dignity of Japanese wrestling first and foremost. I am here to do my mission with my head held high. I am not a victim, I am a warrior. I don't view what happened to Japanese wrestling as a robbery, we weren't tricked or deceived, we were just too weak, we let our guards down and we couldn't fight back and we suffered the results. There's no time for us left to lick our wounds, all we can do is pick our swords up again and point them towards those we must aim them at, and then we must swing.

Unlike Arata Asakura or Bad Boy Know, my blame is internal to my own people for their weakness, and the reason for that is because I have to ask, what exactly did we lose to? I look at my opponent for my Triumph debut and it's literally a clown. I know Americans are a little too obsessed with Halloween but at some point it's time to take off the masks and the make-ups and confront reality, yeah? Or is getting to hide our weaknesses and insecurities a privilege we lost alongside everything else? I can't hate you for who you are, HYDE, because frankly, I don't know who you are. I don't think anyone else knows who you are either, and I don't think they'd care to. I'm not even saying this to you as an insult, because it's clear that is your intention, you mask who you are from the world. I think there's one more person that doesn't know who HYDE The Clown is, and that would be you yourself. No, I'm not talking to HYDE, I'm talking about the man behind the make-up. Does that man even exist anymore? Or is it just HYDE alone that walks this world in that body now?

You're well-traveled, I know that. The independent scene, the carnival, you're a proud attraction of the freak show and funnily enough HYDE, I can respect that. Embrace who you are, and walk the path no one has before you. In that sense, we are both doing the same thing. What makes us different, and quite largely at that, is what our ambition materializes as. What is yours, HYDE? A man stripped of his ego, of his identity. You don't know who you are and you don't know what you are fighting for. You live off of your most primal, innate instincts. You chase sensations and feelings. You have no higher thinking. You can't understand what burdens that I have to carry. The entire suffering of a nation on my back and I need to do it with my head held high. You think I don't get mad? You think I don't feel bad for myself? Of course I do, I'm a man! We all go through it, but I don't let it define me. I didn't get the right to dress myself up like a clown and dance around for a living, HYDE, I was born with a higher purpose and the ability to achieve it, the body of a warrior and the brain of a general, I am not a clown, I am a warrior, and you are going to find out exactly what that difference means when you step into the ring with me on Triumph.
