| The Last Stand #1: Definition of Greatness.
16.07.2024 Osaka, Japan
*The recording begins in one of Arata’s dojos, with a view of the owner himself. The Japanese man is dressed only in black shorts and a pair of sports shoes of the same color. He is sitting on the edge of the ring, resting his back on the ropes. The droplets of sweat can be visible on his chest and face. As he runs his fingers through the strands of wet blonde hair, his lips form into slight smiles. It quickly changes into a more serious expression, as the first words echo through the room.*
As I already said, sometimes you have to make difficult choices. You have to decide what will bring the biggest value, not to regret sticking to your comfort zone. Changes are important, since they accompany us through our whole lives. They help us to become better…They are creating who we truly are. Some choices might be difficult and bring the unexpected, but only I can show if they were right to begin with. And my victory against Matt Miles is clear proof that Mercadier did the perfect call. Once again, no disrespect to Jupiter. I am sure she will bring glory to the Salvation in her own match. However, when it comes to our Tag Team Championships, experience is very valuable. High intelligence is something that can bring victory to us. This is what matters at the end of the day, right? We want Salvation to drip in gold. It is not about certain people, it is about all of us being one unit.
Yet, I am sure a lot of people were surprised by this decision two weeks ago. A lot would even ask if they should trust me at all? I just joined the faction and putting such a high stake in the hands of new person is risky as fuck. My reputation precedes me. The whole world knows that I am one of the best in this business. Not many can match my level, but I always appreciate it if they try. Just look at what happened last Sunday. Matt Miles gave me a great match. This is what you expect from a veteran. Great movements and counters. The in-ring awareness that is mandatory if you want to compete on the highest level. However, even Matt Miles' best wasn’t enough. He did an awesome job, but it was still not enough to beat Arata Asakura. He couldn’t make it against me on Sunday, and he shouldn’t hope that this is going to change at The Last Stand. I find it really cute that you are trying to act as a tag team together, but we all know this is not going to work. I am not one of those people who think that two individuals can’t make a proper unit. I truly believe that personality plays a big factor here. And honestly, you two are rather difficult. I am not going to repeat myself, but I remember a lot about what Matt Miles used to be. What’s more, I am more than sure that he is still the same person, but fooling with you all the time. Don’t forget, the wolf in sheep's clothing is more than a warning. I can’t wait to see that you still know how to bark back. But who knows, Matt. Maybe the chaos in your head after your loss will put you to slip like a little bitch.
You are not alone this time, Matt, but it doesn’t matter. I don’t believe in the magical power of friendship, or whatever you claim to be. However, I have to say one thing. Matt Miles is the strongest link of this team. Even if Maximus Steele managed to get a win over my partner, he is nothing more than a pile of muscles. I did a little research to confirm the theory that showed up in my mind. And guess what? I was right. Steele struggles the moment when the match stops being all about physical strength. He is completely helpless when opponent has something more to offer than pushing each other from one side of the ring to another. He might be a rising star, but he still has a lot to learn. And this is one more reason why I was chosen to represent Salvation. I am versatile, and this way I am going to make it difficult for him.
There is a lot of anger in you and this is how you release your frustration, Maximus. Mindless punches that are supposed to smash your opponent into pulp. However, wrestling holds a lot more meaning than that. Strength stopped being a main factor long ago. Skills and intelligence are way more valuable these days. I understand that you are a simple man. Despite changing your profession into a more exciting one, you try to remain modest. As if you were scared to shine bright and this is not a mentality of a champion. I understand you more than anybody else, because I also come from poverty. However, if you want to succeed in this business, you need to start acting like a superstar…not feel sorry that you are even existing. Your hatred to those who are more privileged won’t be something that will motivate you to reach the top. It will be deadweight dragging you to the bottom till you can’t see a ray of sun. You are good, but you are too scared to become the best, so you can never compete with someone like me.
Salvation entrusted me with these Tag Team Championships and I will make sure that they are still in our position after The Last Stand. Mercadier de Leone and I…we will show the whole world that Salvation is the true definition of greatness. The washed veteran and big angry sweaty guy are not going to be a match to us.
