AND THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS. #007

The scene begins in a darkened room, a single light hangs above an old wooden rocking chair as a set of footsteps draws closer and closer to the camera, and we can see it is none other than AZAZEL.

They take a seat, and behind them another light turns on, revealing a word scrawled on the wall, and as it is revealed they begin to speak.

“Lust.

The only reason you are on this journey, Laura Roxanne… is for money… and for power. The only reason you are actively wrestling is not for yourself… it is to… appease the thoughts running through your skull that we have added into this world… we are the ones who added those thoughts and feelings to this plane of existence… you would not be competing in this company, let alone in professional wrestling had we not brought it to the world… and to humanity.”

With that, the light switches off, and another light switches on on the opposite wall, revealing a new word.

“Gluttony.

You, Laura Roxanne… are a glutton for punishment… actively seeking out more challengers… with more risk to yourself… because you are seeking that thrill. You love the feeling of battle… so much so that you do more than is necessary… and you continue to keep on with this… even when the odds are so stacked against you that the odds of you walking away the victor seem so improbable that any normal mortal being would stop… but you are not them…

Because you cannot get enough of that feeling… you are continuously chasing that feeling… no matter what damage it may be doing to you and your body in the long run… you… Laura Roxanne… cannot escape your sins.”

The light turns off, and before the next word is revealed, AZAZEL begins to laugh to themselves… then as the light turns on, they look at the camera and begin to speak.

“Greed.

Furthering your own career over others… this one is… self explanatory, no?

You are a thrill seeker. You will talk the talk in hopes of getting the bigger matches and the better competitors than others for your own gain… so you can continue to further yourself over others that may be more worthy of having such an opportunity… yet you do it ‘just because’...

And people will tune in no matter what… because people love an underdog story… David versus Goliath… but you have no reason to be the underdog in the story… you have already been the best… and when you had one roadblock put in your way… what did you do?

You sought out a new profession… taking someone else's spot in this company… in this profession… for your own greed… because you cannot help yourself but to make yourself the center of attention… you are a greedy… greedy little girl who can never be told no.”

Again, the light switches off. This time, AZAZEL stands up and turns their back to the camera, walking over to the wall as the light turns on.

“Sloth.

And you do all of that… with no care in the world. You do not care that someone else lost out for you to have this spot on this Pay Per View that you did not earn… yet you do not care… you chose to omit your responsibility in favor of chasing down a demon… What does that show of you? You are a fool. You do not care. You would rather not do anything… then put in effort to become the greatest… which is why you gave up on your olympic dreams… you claim it was due to the accident… but you were just lazy… afraid… and a coward.”

They continue to walk around the room as the camera follows, and as the next word is revealed we can see this one is written in a highly erratic manner. The lettering all over the place, almost looking frantic.

“Envy.

The one emotion we know you hold for certain… you carry that cross and it shows… you are envious that it was not you at the games… you hold that same emotion to those in the Chamber of Valor match… or to Nayati… or James Christ… you believe it should be you receiving the championship opportunities. You, Laura Roxanne… believe you are deserving of those shots… yet you have nothing to prove your worth. Nothing to show you belong… nothing to show you are even worthy of being in the ring against us… to try and take us down.

And that… that terrifies you. That your facade you are putting up is slowly cracking… and all of these sins you attempt to mask and hide from the public are slowly being drawn out… and being revealed to the masses… that they will see you in a different light… see you for what you truly are…

A fraud.

A coward…

And above all… a sinner.”

As they continue to walk around the room, and as the next light turns on… we see the next word is written in… what we can only hope is a deep red paint.

AZAZEL turns to the camera this time, but not before they run their fingers over the word, smudging its red lettering.

“Wrath.

You do not attempt to hide this one as well as you do the others… you make it clear you want to fight anyone and everyone… that you seek to show you are head and shoulders above the competition through violence… the one language that is universally spoken.

Which is why you choose it.

Because everybody knows wrath… everybody knows violence… fighting… brawling… whatever you wish to call it… and you have us to thank for it being as widespread as it is… for were we not cast out of heaven… we would not have had a chance to show humanity war… and pain… and suffering.

You are no better than us, Laura Roxanne… you seek what we seek… but through the guise of being the good guy in your own story.”

With that the light switches off, but the camera keeps focused on where the spot was, before finally following AZAZEL to where the next, and final light is. They turn to face the camera, and speak before the light switch turns on.

“As they say… we saved the best for last… and it leads us on… finally… to Pride.”

This time, the whole room is illuminated. It fills with light and we can see that the word ‘PRIDE’ has been written over the entire wall in huge letters, with all of the other words around it.

“Pride is the weakness of all humans. Pride is the hubris for humanity… it will also be what causes the downfall of humanity… Pride is the… original… and worst of the seven sins to have… and luckily for you, Laura Roxanne… you happen to be fluent in that.

You are as Prideful as they come…

‘Pride goeth before destruction… a haughty spirit before a fall’... you are so… confident… in your abilities that you hold yourself on this pedestal… that you think you are stronger… faster… better than everyone else you face, even if deep down you know it not to be true… you say it anyways.

You speak of yourself highly. You hold yourself in a category above the rest of the competition… and it will be your very downfall… we are certain you will believe that you are better than us… that you are not like those we have faced beforehand.

That you will be the odd one out.”

“When… in reality… you are no different to the rest… which will be your very downfall, Laura Roxanne. You… are just like everybody else… you have a weakness…

…and you will fall.”

With that, the scene begins to fade… with AZAZEL’s soulless eyes being the last thing we see… looking directly into the camera.
